“I began Building Boards a few years back, in 2019. It was really only supposed to be a one time thing. I couldn’t afford the board I wanted, so I made one instead. It wasn’t pretty but it floated. I never expected it to become what it is today but thanks to my persistence, and the patience of a few very talented and reputable mentors. I have been able to travel the East Coast building boards with and for some really great companies.
I build all my boards by hand, start to finish. I enjoy doing every step because it lets me have full creative freedom as well as control the quality and outcome of the finished board. Id describe my approach to building surfboards as an attempt to blend tradition and style with nuance and performance. I’m comfortable with making a wide variety of boards but my favorite boards to build are also the ones I like to ride. Fish, eggs, logs, and alternative shortboards.”
